Sufjan Stevens
7, 8 February 2011

Rushmore, Groove Guide, and 95bFM, in association with Mystery Girl and Radio Active are extremely proud to present Detroit’s one and only Sufjan Stevens, with his eleven piece band, live in New Zealand for the very first time, on 7 & 8 February, 2011.

Fresh from a sold out tour of the United States, Stevens will share the strange and eclectic world of his latest releases, “The Age of Adz” and the anthemic “All Delighted People” EP, with audiences in Auckland and Wellington in February, 2011.

With his sixth full-length album, The Age of Adz, he has delivered an unexpected and career changing move. Released in mid-2010, The Age of Adz shot to number 7 in the Billboard Top 200. Critics were likewise rapt: 'It’s what you hope for from your favorite artists in your best moments — evolution, a little difficulty and, especially, something new.’ (Paste Magazine); 'As important questions about music’s worth in the age of free continue to swirl around him, Sufjan’s still combating instant-gratification culture the best way he knows how.’ (Pitchfork); 'You emerge from the other side of it glad not just that Stevens continued to make music, but that he chose to follow his muse to such a radical, potentially divisive place.’ (Guardian); yet The Age of Adz is only the most recent high mark in a decade long career, which has seen his skills as a performer steadily grow along with the devotion and size of his audience.

Tickets on sale from Monday 22nd November from Ticketmaster (Auckland show) and Ticketek (Wellington show).
